The Metallic Menace Attacks Comic-Con
Fandom has partnered for a second year with “The Real Cost” to use their platform to fight against teen vaping.
They will unveil an augmented reality game at San Diego Comic-Con, “Attack of the Metallic Menace”, at the Interactive Zone at Petco Park. The 10-foot-tall metallic statue is inspired by classic Kaiju films such as Godzilla. Attendees will be the first to experience the browser-based AR mobile game created in partnership with Fandom and NeoPangea. The game challenges teens to face off against the Metallic Menace who will send toxic metal shards their way, representing the toxic metals teens can inhale when vaping. Fans will also compete against other attendees, including gaming influencers.
AR experience plays like a FPS/combat game, where preserving your lung’s health is mission critical. NeoPangea’s development team addressed frictionless entry into gameplay by using 8th Wall’s augmented reality technology from their partner Niantic, makers of “Pokemon Go”.
